A little about me
Hello Paso Robles!
My name is Adelita Hiteshew, though many of you know me as Lita. I moved to this amazing community at 15, and it quickly became home. Since then, I’ve devoted myself to serving the children of Paso Robles. I’ve worked in preschools, run an in-home daycare, and served as a kindergarten paraeducator—all while raising my own family. These experiences, along with years of volunteer work, have strengthened my ties to our community.
Currently, I’m proud to serve as PTA president at Virginia Peterson Elementary. I’m running for the Area 6 school board seat because I believe we can do even more to support our students, families, and schools. My focus is on community, collaboration, and commitment.
I want to ensure that every child, especially those with disabilities, gets the best possible start in their education. As a mother of a child with a disability, I know firsthand the challenges parents face, and I’m committed to empowering them to navigate the special education system. By addressing stigmas and providing the right support, we can help every student succeed.
I also believe in building strong partnerships. To make our schools the best they can be, we need open communication between teachers, parents, administrators, and students, ensuring everyone is heard and valued.
Finally, I’m dedicated to accountability. Managing our budget wisely is essential to keeping class sizes manageable and supporting programs that enrich students’ lives, including arts, sports, and clubs.
As a forever Bearcat, a mom of four, and a committed volunteer, I know the potential of our schools. I’m eager to help every child in our district find success.
